The foreign nations which participated in the 1904 World's
Fair made extra effort to outdo each other in with the buildings that they
built and the exhibits that they showed. For the most part they chose fine
examples of native architecture familiar to the world through history or
literature, and their pavilions were the objects of special interest to
every visitor to the Fair.
